There are a few different Dick’s Sporting Goods ads going around right now, but the one with Jimmy Rollins taking baseballs to the chest is by far the best.
It’s a little old at this point, being linked to by Todd Zolecki and The 700 Level.
I meant to write something about it earlier, but Zo just nailed it with the description. It is exactly like that scene in Happy Gilmore in which Adam Sandler takes balls to the chest in order to prepare for hockey tryouts next season.
It is commercials like this in which my love for the Phillies deepens. I enjoy seeing these players out of their element and doing things they normally wouldn’t.
Only 34 days until Opening Night.
Next to Game 5 of the World Series, it is the most excited I’ve been for a Phillies game that I’m going to attend.
