I’ve never in my life been able to say any team from Philly is set to begin the defense of their championship, but now I can.
The Philadelphia Phillies are the defending World Series Champions.
The Phillies are set to begin the defense of their title in about 8 hours. This will probably be the longest 8 hours in their lives, and many of ours as well. It is a huge moment for the city and for the Phillies. The eyes of the baseball world are on them tonight as they open the season.
They have a lot of expectations to uphold for all the fans in this city, but I think they can live up to them.
Many people in this city said they only wanted one. Just one little championship to end the curse. However, after finally getting one, it’s only made our hunger for a championship even worse. Now that we have one, we all want more. This fans in Philly would never turn into those fans from Boston after they won all those titles. We would be 1,000 times hungrier than we were 5 months ago.
The national media thought Philly fans were “bad” before? Now that we have something to prove how great of a city we really are, it’s only going to get worse from here.
This city is going to be rocking at 8:05 tonight. Baseball season is finally back.
Let’s do it Phillies. How about making it 2 time World Fucking Champions?
