The Phillies received their 2008 World Championship rings today.

They are gorgeous. More pictures from Zolecki here
From Phillies.com:
The 103 diamonds represent the 103 victories from 2008: 92 in the regular season and 11 in the postseason. The words “World Champions” are written along the ring’s top and bottom outer rim. The left side of the ring features the player’s name and number atop and below the Liberty Bell. The right side of the ring has the World Series trophy rising out of Citizens Bank Park, which Clothier said represents the support from fans throughout the season. The right side of the ring also includes a “P” and “TB” for the Phillies and Tampa Bay with a “4″ below the “P” representing the Phillies’ four wins in the World Series and “1″ below the “TB” representing the Rays’ one win.
Pat Burrell and Pat Gillick both got very emotional during the ceremony. Burrell definitely got the loudest ovation out of anyone on the team. Adam Eaton naturally got booed.
The Phillies still couldn’t muster any offense in the beginning of the game. Seemed as if they were still riding that World Series high.
But then, al of a sudden, the 7th inning happened. The Phightins’ must have rubbed some magic off of those WS rings because they used a lot of it during that inning. Coming back from 7 runs down to take the lead was incredible. From the atmosphere at Citizens Bank Park, you would have never known it was only the 3rd game of the season. The Bank was rocking.
Lights Out Lidge made it interesting, but in the end, he converted his 52nd consecutive save to nail down the first win of the season for the Phillies.
Cole Hamels makes his season debut for the Phillies on Friday against the Rockies, so hopefully he and the team can continue the streak that they are on from the 7th inning on.
Let’s keep this going Phillies.
