Boldin was going to be too pricey for the Eagles (at least in their minds) to sign with the issue of Donovan's new contract looming.

I like all the moves the last month, let's wait for training camp to start before we get our panties in a bunch.

"Even if Maclin becomes a pro bowl receiver, the pick still sucks!"

I'm not really sure how having a pro-bowl reciever sucks.

You profess that acquiring either Boldin or Edwards would have been more ideal (agree), but you make it sound like getting one of them would be so easy. It clearly wasn't. Look, some fans are still a little bent about not getting one of them, but the fact of the matter is THOSE DEALS WERE NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. So instead of wasting another year without a solid group of recievers for McNabb, the organization got some balls and took a very, very good reciever that could end up being better than either of them. I'm not saying he will, just that it's possible.

Overall, including both this off seasons free agent signings, departures, and draft day selections, I'm exstatic as an Eagle fan. They really, really did a stand-out job. I'm just hoping it all comes into form by September.

I almost fell out of my chair when they grabbed Maclin---andy and his big bodies (ol/dl)-- never --- ever-- would of thought it!

I like the grad for Hobbs also, a little depth with a sour Sheldon won't hurt!

McCoy is a little light in the tail for me, but, he can contribute in other ways. Frankly, I just don;t get it, there are over 100s of Div IA schools that play football and we can't ever find anyone over 200lbs that runs with the football!

Has everyone gone mad? Even if Maclin becomes a pro bowl receiver, the pick still sucks! I know, you are thinking, wait you get a pro bowler and you are not happy. The Eagles could have traded this pick for just about any receiver that was out there and available, namely Boldin and Edwards. Both of whom would be much better fits for what the Eagles need. McCoy is a good pick, they needed a player like him. He may not be Jacobs, but he will add much needed depth.

I like Maclin as a pick. Of course I would have rather had Boldin, but I'm really excited that Maclin fell to the Eagles.

I feel he will be an incredible receiver once he develops.
