In what is quickly becoming a trend the past few seasons, the Phillies staged another comeback last night against Marlins.
After being down 4-2, the Phils came back in the top of the 10th with 2 runs to win 6-4.
The Phillies have already established this season that they are going to play the full 27 outs of every game. They’ve made a terrible habit of getting behind early so far, but they have managed to keep themselves in most games. The HR issue is starting to get a little annoying and the pitchers need to work on that. There is no way they should be giving up as many long balls as they are.
The Phillies had 38 come from behind wins last season, and already have a few this season. This team has constantly been coming back from deficits.
The Phillies finish off the series with the Marlins today with the ageless wonder Jamie Moyer taking the mound with those wonderful Liberty Bell stirrups that everyone loves so much. Getting a sweep of the division leaders would be huge at this point in the season. The Phillies haven’t been very consistent so far, but this sweep would be a great way to get some early season momentum.
