Talk to Us Ed!
Last week Sixer GM Ed Stefanski announced he was meeting with former Wizards head coach Eddie Jordan. After that however, it’s been like a National secret when trying to find out who else is being interviewed for the job. Apparently, Dallas Mavericks assistant Dwayne Casey was interviewed by Stefanski earlier in the week in California. When Casey was contacted he would not say where, when, or how the interview went. He almost sounded like it didn’t happen at all. He was told to keep quiet by Stefanski, like the others who’ve been interviewed.
Others who’ve been interviewed you ask?
Along with Eddie Jordan, candidates interviewed by Stefanski include: Dwayne Casey, Tom Thibodeau, Kurt Rambis, Chris Ford and surprisingly Villanova Head Coach Jay Wright.
Wright quickly withdrew his name from the race.
Other then a statement from Wright we’ve heard silence from the rest of the candidates. And Silence from Stefanski that is until yesterday he issued this statement:
“In the past week, I have completed interviews with six candidates, all of whom are exceptionally qualified, have an impressive knowledge of the game and are very well-respected within the basketball community.”
So my question is why so secretive Ed?
Why keep so quiet about who your interviewing and when your interviewing them?
When your clearly the fourth place team in a four team city wouldn’t you want some attention from the media?
I’ve heard Stefanski talk in great length about the passion of the fans and how the Sixers have to use that great passion to their advantage. Leaving them in the dark about your head coaching search will undoubtable make you irrelevant in Philly sports fans minds.
So step it up Ed, if you want to fill the seats step one is opening up to us. You need to let us know you care what we think. Your not the Eagles, we won’t care despite how stubborn and tyrannical you are. You have to prove to us that your worth our time, so talk to us Ed!
