We should have known better, usually we do. It was too good to be true, and the harsh reality came quickly on Thursday night.
All it took for the “real” Sixers to sho
w up was to have the Magic lose two starters.
To break this game down strategically would be an incredible waste of time. Seriously, I’m at a loss for words right now.
It’s one thing to just get beaten by the better team. However, it’s quite another to look like you couldn’t care less while your getting pounded into the court by a team missing two of it’s most important players.
Usually after losses like this you can blame the coach, well I don’t blame Tony DiLeo one bit for the pathetic effort by his team. He looked just as puzzled as most of us did.
The Sixers looked like they had never played together. Like they had all met in the locker room before the game and drew up some sloppy plays and went “what the hell we’ll give it a shot.” Completely unprofessional effort, I call into question the leadership of this team, is there any?
And should we be surprised? A week ago none of us would have imagined a week later we would be angry about the Sixers getting eliminated. No one thought the Sixers were actually any good, but before tonight I think they had all earned our respect with the heart they had shown. Well all of that heart means nothing after a performance like that.
I mean breaking down the game, where do you start? Coaches around the world should get a tape of this game and show it to their teams before games and during practices. So they’ll know how not to play, “boys this is how you lose a basketball game.”
For me to continue to rant about the Sixers would give them more exposure then I think they are worth. So many questions to answer now, it will no doubt be an interesting and exciting off season. An off season that came a little to early.
All I have to say to the Sixers is your effort was pathetic and shameful, and you wonder why you can’t fill the stands for a playoff game?
