The signing of Elton Brand and Andre Iguodala along with the huge contract of Samuel Dalembert have hand cuffed Ed Stefanski and the Sixers so far this off season. Don’t look for that trend to end anytime soon.
The most exciting move left isn’t even guaranteed to happen. A possible sign-and-trade of point guard Andre Miller is probably all Sixer fans have to look forward too. And even the rumored players that the Sixers would get in return aren’t anything to get excited about. Chris Duhon? Steven Blake? Also, don’t pay any attention to the Kirk Hinrich rumors, they are completely unfounded.
Just when you thought it couldn’t get any more exciting, the Sixers are now searching the bottom of the NBA’s free agent barrel looking to fill out their bench. Here’s a list of some of the names they’re looking at and don’t feel bad if you haven’t heard of any of them. And also don’t feel bad if you have heard of any of them. After all every team needs a bench.
Primoz Brezec,Chris Mihm, Aaron Gray, Ryan Hollins, Jared Reiner, Jake Voshkuhl, Adonal Foyle and Earl Barron.
I’ll let you all collect yourselves.
All kidding aside there are some recognizable names on that list. A few of them could be described as “average,” or a player with a potentially ”high upside.” However, nothing to get excited about, nothing that makes the Sixers a contender in the East.

Tinsley Could Be An Option At Point Guard For the Sixers
Also the Sixers are reportedly interested in point guard Jamaal Tinsley who had his contract bought out by the Indiana Pacers earlier this week.. Tinsley is trying to put a tough 2008-09 season behind him, he was told by the Pacers before the season started that he was not wanted and that T.J Ford would be replacing him. He requested a trade and did not suit up for the Pacers all season long, in February the NBA Players Association filed a grievance on Tinsley’s behalf after the Pacers were unable to trade him. It’s not known what kind of shape Tinsley is in but he could probably be had cheaply on a 1-year deal, something the Sixers would be very interested in.
And the Sixers did offer a contract to point guard C.J Watson who spent last season with the Golden State Warriors. Reportedly the contract was a 1-year deal worth $2.3 Million, Watson turned it down and is now close to signing with the Orlando Magic.
So the signings up coming for the Sixers won’t be earth shattering and certainly won’t be the talk around the water cooler. However, the Sixers have made their bed and now they must lie in it.
