My first hours in Sin City had plenty of up and down moments, unfortunately for the Phils it was one long, painful downward spiral in San Fran. Yeah, Cliff Lee was tremendous, but the offense was a complete no-show and we really should be counting our blessings that we didn’t get swept by a team that (all due respect to Barry Zito’s “we’re contenders” comment) won’t make the playoffs.
The good news? We haven’t reached the playoffs yet and the Phils have plenty of time to get on another fall roll. The pieces are in place for a long playoff run, so don’t invest too much in some San Francisco defeat (get it…Rice a Roni?…ehhh nevermind.)
