“I’m not worried about redemption. I’m worried about being a great offensive tackle against the Panthers,” Justice said. “If redemption comes with it, fine.”
Actually, redemption apparently has already come.
Justice let it be known that he has refocused his life on God’s goodness. The resultant clarity for him has changed everything, he said.
Henceforth, Justice said, he will play only for God’s glory.
“Believe it or not, this year, God’s played a big part in my life. You guys probably think I’m crazy, but he has. I can see a big difference in how I play and how I approach things,” Justice said. “I just want to make the best of this opportunity.”
That interesting tidbit comes from the Daily News blog “Eagletarian”, as Winston Justice attempts to replace Shawn Andrews at right tackle against the Panthers.
I’d be willing to bet a vast majority of Eagle fans are ready to give up on Winston, if they haven’t already, but the guy actually seems to be developing into a pretty decent player. He is coming off a solid training camp/preseason, and has a great opportunity here to re-establish himself as a part of this team’s future.
That being said, I may be one of the few who are this optimistic about Justice’s chances. From a comment on the above linked post:
“So if Justice stinks up the joint on Sunday, does that mean that it’s God’s fault or does that mean there is no God?”
I guess we’ll be getting our answer pretty soon.
