The Flyers have officially announced their lineup for tonight’s preseason game in Detroit. Emery will of course be getting two periods; Boucher will get one. Gagne, Richards, Timonen, Coburn, Carcillo, and Asham will not be taking the ice. The following skaters will be in the lineup:
Forwards: James van Riemsdyk, Jeff Carter, Scott Hartnell, Mark Bell, Blair Betts, Andreas Nodl, Mika Pyorala, Claude Giroux, Danny Briere, Krys Kolanos, Ian Laperriere, Jared Ross.
Defensemen: Matt Carle, Chris Pronger, Randy Jones, Ryan Parent, Oskars Bartulis, Joonas Lehtivuori.
Of that lineup it’s clear vanRiemsdyk, Giroux, and Briere will form a line. Hartnell, Carter, and Pyorala will form another. Kolanos, Betts, Bell, Nodl, Laperriere, and Ross will be somehow pieced together to form two other lines. On the defense Carle will clearly be paired with Pronger. It’s likely that Jones and Parent will be together while Bartulis and Lehtivuori form up the third pairing.
The game starts at 7:30, but it will be hard to watch. PhinallyPhilly will provide a link to a stream through Twitter, but we can’t guarantee that it will work. We hope it works as well because we want to watch the game too. If not I will be listening on WIP. If you’re in the Philly area just tune the radio to WIP or listen live on 610wip.com. There should be no problems.

EMERY TO STEP BACK INTO THE RING WEDNESDAY
My latest article on Examiner.com/Philadelphia discusses the new Flyers’ goalie and what he hopes to achieve in his first preseason game wearing orange. It also discusses the reason for the images on his mask and his meeting with Joe Frazier.
To get his reputation back Emery will have to fight for every shred of credibility. In the end the puck does not care what you have done in the past, it is still going to find the net if you do not stand in its way. The defense will give Emery all the help they can, but in the end it is up to him whether he’s going to fight to become a champion or fade away like the boxers who would never make the cut for his mask.
