Philly Phantasy Phootball League Week 2 Recap

Posted by David Foley On September - 23 - 2009

After a somewhat slow Week 1 things really picked up in Week 2, with several down-to-the-wire matchups. Our Game of the Week was undoubtably one of the best…

GAME OF THE WEEK

PH3 Week 2 GOTWFirst of all, Mike was too lazy to pick a team logo so I picked one for him. For shame Mike, for shame. That Brady Quinn sure is an attractive fellow though, right?

This matchup really had a lot riding on the Dolphins/Colts Monday Nighter, as the Podcasters had a dominant 106.5 – 89 lead as of Sunday with Chad Pennington and the Colts defense still to go. Mike had Donald Brown and Ted Ginn Jr. though, and that ended up making all the difference.

Interestingly enough Mike was probably losing through most of the game, because it wasn’t until late in the 4th when Brown scored on a TD run to give the Colts the lead for good. Mike was still trailing, but one of Ginn’s receptions on the Dolphins last horribly-managed drive gave him just enough to jump Dan by a single point! That ladies and gentlemen is what makes fantasy football so damn fun and unpredictable!

In other action around the league, Kevin McGuire’s Throwbacks pulled off an upset, while  my Neckbeards were unfortunately unable to overcome Frank Gore and Vick’s Dead Eagles. Ronnie Brown and Andre Johnson kept it somewhat close, but Matt Hasselbeck’s injury and Leon Washington’s bad day ultimately did me in. You can’t win them all, but I have a feeling I’ll be seeing Mr. “FantasyMAX” again in the playoffs.

To be fair, I have a new, half-assed logo via the generic logo generator. Also, factor in that I had to weather a 49.5 point performance from Chris Johnson and that Wes Welker was a game time inactive and I feel quite good about this win.
