Help save the life of a local baseball player

Posted by Roman Zubarev On October - 14 - 2009

kyle-noonan-pitching-action_04132008_bigI recently received an email from Amanda N. of DKMS, an organization dedicated to saving lives by recruiting bone marrow donors for leukemia patients.

She informed me about one such patient from our area: 23-year-old Kyle Noonan, former pitcher and field player for the Philadelphia University Rams who is now battling acute leukemia. The young athlete is in desperate need of a bone marrow transplant and needs to find a compatible donor. Currently there are no matches. But hopefully by spreading this message, blogs like ours may help recruit bone marrow donors who can save Kyle and thousands of others just like him.

Please consider attending the DKMS bone marrow drive at Philadelphia University on October 22nd, 2009 11:00AM-4:00PM (Kanbar Performance Space). All this takes is 10 minutes of your time and a painless q-tip cheek swab.

If you are not able attend the donor drive, but still want to help, you can request a kit online here: http://www.dkmsamericas.org/marrow-donor-form.

Thank you from DKMS and Phinally Philly.
