Line shifts as break ends for Flyers

Flyers are done with one long break, but there’s another one right around the corner. After tomorrow night’s game in Florida there is yet another rest period for the team before a home match-up against the Boston Bruins.

These breaks have been crucial for a couple of injured players on the roster though. James van Riemsdyk has been given a chance to take care of himself after getting his “bell rung” against Washington and missing the next two games. Blair Betts, who was also injured against Washington, is ahead of schedule in the recovery of his separated shoulder.

Van Riemsdyk will be rejoining the Flyers’ lineup; Betts won’t be just yet.

The lines have changed though. Claude Giroux played so well with Richards and Gagne that he will be moving back to winger on the top line. Mika Pyorala will now be centering a third line with van Riemsdyk on the left and Arron Asham on the right.

Arron Asham could possibly change to Ian Laperriere or Darroll Powe upon Betts’ return (which is likely against the Boston Bruins), but for now Powe will be centering Laperriere and Dan Carcillo on the fourth line.

Action starts tonight at 7:30 tomorrow and then dies again for nearly another whole week. At least the team is enjoying their time off even if it means  no Flyers games for me.
