Also, the "Harry Kalas passing before George Steinbrenner" comment is just naive. You didn't/don't personally know either men and it just makes you look bad trying to illogically chronicle the end of people's live based on what team you root for.

Can I just ask a question? First, I understand this a Philly blog, and for the most part, a good one! Anyway, why do you need to feel the need to attack Yankees fans through-out this entire article? Anyone could search Twitter and pick stupid quotes from stupid fans including Phillies fans. One tweet does not mean every Yankees fan is heartless, as that guy was. You can't stereotype millions of people by a few things you read, or a couple of encounters. You continue to call New Yorkers trashy, but how does it make you any better? I'm not sure it's exactly classy to ruthlessly insult people.

And then making fun of Suzyn Waldman's name? Seriously? She is a terrible broadcaster, but what does the spelling of her name have to do with anything?

Did you ever think Hideki Matsui is appears as an "emotional bore" because he doesn't feel comfortable speaking his second language in front of a crowd of reporters? And of course through a translator, he's not going to come off as exactly a big ball of excitement.

I should point out making fun of a world class pitcher because of his weight is frankly disgusting. Not only is it rude, and something you would never think of doing in an actual conversation with him, it's just a cheapshot. And makes you look desperate just to insult someone for the hell of it.

Also, the amount of homophobia in this article is disgusting. It just sort of makes me sad that you would result in lame stereotypes.

I could keep going but I don't have time to sit here and point out everything I feel is slightly unjust. It feels like a lot of misguided Mets hate.

I hope that all of the Yankees fans who read this article don't think everyone in Philly is like this. I have family there and am down there a lot and your city is beautiful, and really a nice city with even nicer people. Old City is really where you want to be, and the food through-out all of Philadelphia is great.

I hope you can look past the bad layer of fans that every city in every sport has, and see New York has it's amazing points. It takes a lot less energy than hating on it and you might even enjoy it. There's over a million people. Not everyone there is the way you paint them to be. You just have it give it a chance.

Good luck to the Phillies.

Sorry Foley, but as much as everyone - myself included - hates the Yankees and is rooting against them, it's good for baseball to have them at the top of the mountain again just to keep things interesting. No other team can keep up with them spending wise, which isn't ideal for smaller budget teams (ie, my poor poor Texas Rangers post-A-Rod & Cha Ho Park). But when the Yankees are in the discussion, it gets baseball fans and even casual fans interested. No one cared when yall beat the Rays last season. Beat the Yankees and it will be a big deal -- and everyone will be watching.
